Hi, thanks for stopping by!
To introduce myself, I need to share first about my grandmothers. My Dad’s mom had an eye for style similar to Jackie O. My mom’s mom had the gift of creating fun and joy out of thin air – not too different than Lucille Ball from “I Love Lucy”. Although different styles, both my grandmothers had a zest and determination to not only live and experience life, but to enjoy it! They cooked delicious home cooked meals and shared the table with family and friends. They each curated beautiful styled homes while being on a budget and doing much of it themselves. Each aspect of life was intentional to help create a meaningful life for not only them but their family and friends as well. These traits were inherited by both my parents. My older brother and I grew up in a home that was filled with intentional, meaningful moments and joy!
I married my husband Matt right after college graduation. Fresh out of school and with very little money, we moved into a small city apartment. Our building was built in 1908 with beautiful built in cabinets and giant windows to distract from its many “city charms” as some might say of the giant centipedes, noisy neighbors and consistently broken utilities. We worked at being intentional with what we had, shared many meals together and furnished our home with back alley found treasures. Within a few years, we were able to save up and buy our first house. While we were excited for what was a head, we brought with us years of memories and joy from our little home – but the centipedes had to stay.
One house and 2 kids later – we are still striving to live by these principals my grandmothers had in common that were passed on to my parents and passed on to me. I truly believe that through intentional living, we create meaningful moments that give us Joy. I hope that by sharing decor ideas, recipes and family activities – you will be inspired and encouraged to find your way to genuine joy.
